In this website blog we’ll try to explain everything about vivarium pets.  But let’s first start with some introduction of what is vivarium and what vivarium pet you can raise in captivity.

Mostly “vivarium” is associated with “living” terrarium,because it’s actually area for keeping and raising animals and plants.The difference is that the vivarium is like small ecosystem with controlled humidity and temperature, when the terrarium can be completely artificial . Your vivarium pet can be anything from bugs and amphibians, to reptiles and spiders. Any one of this pets needs different conditions, and in this blog you can find articles for each one of them.

Because of the generally high humidity that is kept in most of these living terrariums, the most preferred vivarium pet is amphibian type. Thats are frogs, newts, salamanders and toads. Their natural habitat is around rivers with much water and plants, so in your small ecosystem they will feel great.

The second type of vivarium pet that you can raise in captivity are the Reptiles.  There are hundreds of reptiles for sale, and not all of them are suitable for vivarium pet, so building a reptile vivarium depends on your pet. Reptile pets are tortoise, turtle, lizard, chameleon, bearded dragon, gecko, monitor, skink, snake, boa, python and etc.

The third type of vivarium pet are the Inverts or just insects. They can live in almost any kind of conditions, but like reptile, the vivarium depends on the pet. The most interesting inverts are the scorpions and tarantulas. Scorpions are hard to raise, and the need more dry habitat so they are not preferred for vivarium pet. On the other hand tarantulas can live in almost any kind of conditions. Actually they like when there is more humidity, and they love moss and plants.
